1. Is the
service free?
AFID is completely free to all
internet freelance designers and prospective employers.
top
2. How long
will registration last?
Registration will last
indefinitely or until you either request removal from the list or the URLs you have given
become unavailable.

3. What if I
have no URLs?
Please submit at least 1 URL. Less
than this would suggest a lack of appropriate experience. Some kind of grading system,
related to the number of URLs and their technical content may be introduced at some time
in the future.

4. Will URLs
be verified?
AFID will attempt to check all
entries carefully to ensure accuracy of address and site authorship. It is assumed that
sites shall contain a clear indication of authorship and this shall be looked for and
verified. In cases where doubt arises, further information shall be required, to assist
with verification. However, inclusion in AFID does not guarantee site authorship.

5. How is
inclusion on list decided?
All sites shall be checked. Those
deemed to be unsuitable, inappropriate or pornographic shall be rejected outright, as
shall the author responsible for that site development. AFID will seek to play an active
role in prohibiting the propogation of such material on the Internet.

6. Can I
appeal if rejected?
If you feel you have been wrongly
rejected then you can email AFID giving
your reasons and your case shall be reconsidered.

7. Can I
remove myself from the list?
Should you wish to be removed from
AFID, go to the "amend your details" page and there you will see
an option to delete your record completely. Note that simply setting the
"available" field to "no" will stop your details from
appearing in any search results. So if all you want is temporary removal,
you might want to consider this option.
8. Is data in
AFID database secure?
Data is held on the host server.
All reasonable steps are taken to ensure data integrity and security but AFID can not
accept any responsibilty for any consequences of data loss or theft. Read our disclaimer/privacy statement for fuller details.

9. Who can
access the database?
Anyone with Internet access can
search\browse the database. Anyone with Internet access can enter details for inclusion in
the database. Only authorised personnel can access the database for the purpose of
amending or deleting records. Note that addresses (geographical) shall not be viewable by
those searching or browsing the database.

10. Will my
details be passed on to any third party?
AFID guarantees that any details
passed to and held on its database shall not be passed on to any third party and shall not

11 What is
the point of AFID?
Quite simply AFID seeks to provide
a free service to both freelance web designers and prospective employers. The idea came
from several years experience as a freelance designer, when I felt the lack of a central
'clearing house' where designers and employers could 'meet'. It does not claim to provide
a perfect service but then, what does? AFID welcomes any criticism and comments with a
view to improvement.
